Johnny Foxes Pub

Glencullen – Dublin Mountains

Established in 1798, Johnnie Fox’s is one of the oldest pubs in Ireland. Renowned for being the highest pub in the country, we are nestled in the peaceful township of Glencullen and surrounded by the beautiful scenery and serenity of the Dublin Mountains. Johnnie Fox’s Pub is situated approximately 25-35 minutes drive from Dublin City centre.

Traditional music sessions are as much alive today as they were in the past. It is indeed something that Johnnie Fox’s has been famous for with sessions popping up ad hoc, as they say. Storytellers are often around here during cold winter days and evenings sitting by the open turf fires in the pub. The live entertainment has been a trade mark at Johnnie Fox’s and it continues to this day, all be it in a more structured way now with the availability of one of our many house bands or singers, or with the world renowned Johnnie Fox’s dancers. In short, there is entertainment which is traditional and exciting with our own personal touch 7 nights a week, and of course during the day-time on Saturday and Sundays.

Situated in Glencullen on top of the Dublin mountains, Johnnie Fox’s is one of Ireland’s oldest and most famous traditional Irish pubs – and we are also famed as the highest pub in the country. We are located approximately 25-35 minutes drive from Dublin City centre. (Please see our on-line map for routes and directions.)

At Johnnie Fox’s we have Traditional Irish Music every night, plus on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There are large bands that play through the year on selected dates. We have a fabulous dining restaurant, so why not try one of our various award winning seafood dishes, as well as our general cuisine. You can also see one of the top Irish dancing performances in the country at our famous ‘Hooley Night’ – dinner & show (reservations recommended). All in all, Johnnie Fox’s is the home of traditional entertainment, so be sure to book in advance if you can.
