Route M7-The Irish National Stud’s Japanese Gardens

Known to many as the finest Japanese Gardens in Europe, The Japanese Gardens at the Irish National Stud will entice you with the sheer beauty and tranquillity of nature.

Surround yourself by the world renowned tourist attraction created between the years 1906 -1910.

Planned by Colonel William Hall-Walker, the gardens were laid out by Japanese gardener Tass Eida and his son Minoru.

The significance of the gardens is not only artistic and horticultural but also philosophical, religious and historical. The garden traces the soul of man from oblivion to eternity using rare plants and landscapes that evoke the exotic.

Travelling from the M7 take Exit 13 in the direction of Nurney on the R415 as far as Newtown Cross. Turn left and continue to the T-Junction. Turn right at the T-Junction for the Visitors car park, drive a short distance and then turn left. The car park entrance is 200m on the left. Distance from Exit 13 to car park – 1.3 miles.
