Courtlough Shooting Grounds was established in 1996 by former Irish Olympian Richard Flynn and his son William, also an international grade shooter and Irish team member.
Our family roots and expertise in Clay Shooting stem from 1950, when Richard Flynn, our Grandfather, began his shooting career and paved the pathway for the next 3 generations of The Flynn Family to follow in his footsteps representing Ireland on an international platform.
William Flynn Snr shot Olympic Trap at an international level throughout the 1980’s & 1990’s, his son William Flynn Jnr has accumulated 5 caps for Ireland in disciplines ABT & Olympic Trap from 2003-2017 and daughter, Aine Flynn has also represented Ireland internationally on several occasions in English Sporting.
William Snr’s other children, Ciara and Shaun also have a major role in the management & running of Courtlough with Ciara heading up the finance department and Shaun in charge of the Outdoor Adventure centre, family is at the core of Courtlough.
At Courtlough Shooting Grounds, we are proud of our reputation for providing our members and customers with premium shooting facilities including a Gun showroom; Retail store, Cafe, as well as a fully licensed bar & restaurant operating in The Clubhouse.
Since our formation in 1996, Courtlough has expanded to become Ireland’s Premier Shooting Ground offering disciplines such as Down the Line, Olympic Trap, Automatic Ball Trap, Skeet, Sporting, Fitasc and Compak Shooting. All shooting layouts are fully covered in, shielded from the weather elements, which makes it an ideal venue all year round. The Shooting Grounds covers 25 acres of the 75 acre site with 2 DTL layouts, 2 Olympic Trap layout, 2 ABT layouts, 2 Skeet ranges, 20 Sporting Stands with over 90 Promatic Traps in operation 6 days per week.
Throughout this time, we have expanded our shooting offerings to include rifle and pistol shooting, with two private members ranges and a silhouette target range designed specifically of beginners. Our ethos has remained the same – to provide state of the art shooting facilities, the very best shooting instruction & experience in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Our staff are fully trained & qualified instructors and hold professional qualifications awarded by the CPSA & NRA.
We provide our clients with instruction and techniques that are suited to their individual requirements whether for game or clay shooting. We use the Promatic Huntsman trailer for simulated game days giving our clients the perfect environment to practice their Game shooting both in & out of season.

Whether you are a novice learning from scratch, an experienced shot, or simply looking to ‘keep your eye in’, our shooting lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs and ability.

Since its formation, Courtlough has expanded and welcomed Outdoor Adventures at Courtlough to its portfolio of activities. Outdoor Adventures is home to The Courtlough Tower which has 3 levels of High Ropes Aerial Trekking, Climbing Walls, Abseiling, Ziplining, Dropzone, Giant Swing and Splatoon Paintball & Splatmaster for children.
We have proven ourselves as leading event providers for corporate events, Team building days, social club outings, school tours, stag/hen parties and family days out. With over 75 acres to work with, Courtlough can cater for individual & groups of any size. We are located approximately 25 minutes from Dublin City Centre, 10 minutes from Dublin Airport and just 2 minutes off exit 5 on the M1 motorway.
